110 Years of Community Banking

For 110 years, Citizens Bank & Trust has had the privilege of serving families, businesses, and communities throughout South Louisiana.

One hundred ten years is more than a milestone. It's generations of families opening their first accounts, businesses taking their next step, neighbors helping neighbors, and a community growing together.

Since opening our doors in Plaquemine in 1916, we've been honored to grow alongside the communities we serve. As we celebrate this milestone, we're reflecting not only on our history, but on the relationships that have made this journey possible.

A Legacy Built on Community

Citizens Bank & Trust was founded by local business leaders with a simple mission: to serve the financial needs of the community. That mission continues to guide us today.

Over the years, we've grown alongside the communities we serve—expanding locations, introducing new technology, and offering new services to meet the changing needs of our customers. From the introduction of debit cards and ATMs to online and mobile banking, we've continued to evolve while remaining focused on personal service.

Today, while banking looks very different than it did in 1916, our commitment to serving our customers with integrity, respect, and personal attention remains unchanged.

Growing Together Through the Years

The history of Citizens Bank & Trust is closely connected to the history of the families, businesses, and communities we serve.

We've celebrated new business openings, helped families purchase homes, supported local organizations, and worked with customers through changing economic conditions. Along the way, we've welcomed new generations of customers who have trusted us with some of life's biggest milestones.

Every customer, employee, and community partner has played a role in shaping our story.

More Than Banking

Being a community bank means more than providing financial services.

It means investing in the places we call home through volunteerism, community partnerships, and the work of the CBT Foundation. It means supporting local schools, nonprofits, and organizations that help strengthen our communities for future generations.

For us, community banking has always been about relationships first. When our neighbors succeed, our communities become stronger—and we're proud to be part of that success.

Looking Ahead

While we're proud to celebrate 110 years of service, we're just as excited about what lies ahead.

Banking will continue to evolve, and technology will continue to change the way people manage their finances. As those changes come, Citizens Bank & Trust will remain committed to providing the personal service, trusted relationships, and local decision-making that have defined us for more than a century.

Most importantly, we want to thank our customers, employees, shareholders, and the communities we serve for allowing us to be part of your lives for the past 110 years.

This anniversary isn't just our celebration—it's yours, too.

Thank you for being part of our story for 110 years.

Here's to the next chapter—together.
