Our Privacy Notice
Keeping customer information secure is a top priority for all us at Citizens Bank and Trust Company (“Citizens,” the “Bank,” or “we”). This privacy notice explains how we handle the personal information about you that we collect and may disclose. This notice will apply to former customers as well as current customers unless we state otherwise.
In this notice we refer to “our affiliates”. When we do, we mean the companies which are part of the Citizens family, namely Citizens Bank & Trust Company and the bank’s holding company, Citizens Bancorporation, Inc. On the other hand, when we refer to “non-affiliated third parties”, we mean companies that are not part of the Citizens family.
In this notice, we refer to “nonpublic personal information.” Generally, this indicates information which you provide to the Bank to obtain a financial product or service, or information the Bank obtains in connection with providing that product or service to you.
Confidentiality and Security Practices
Citizens protects the nonpublic personal information we collect about you by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards. We train the people who work for us how to properly handle your nonpublic personal information. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to personnel who need to know that information to provide products and services to you.
Collection of Information
We may collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources;
- Information we receive from you on application or other forms,
- Information about your transactions with us,
- Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies, and
- Information provided by other third partied in connection with marketing programs.
Types of Information We May Disclose
We may disclose all of the types of information that we collect as described above to companies that perform operational function and services on our behalf or to other institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
Sharing of Information
Citizens does not share nonpublic personal information with its affiliate, and does not sell its customers’ information to any third parties. To enable us to better serve you, we may disclose all of the information we collect, and as described above, to companies with whom we have contracted to perform operational functions and service on behalf of the Bank and our customers or to other individuals with whom we have joint marketing agreements. We also may disclose non-public personal information about you to non-affiliated third parties with your consent and at your direction and as otherwise permitted by law.
Because Citizens limits the sharing of your nonpublic personal information in the manner described in this notice, it is unnecessary for our customers to request that we do so on their behalf by sending us an opt out request.
